Charter Ordinances: Clerk / Treasurer and Assessor

CHARTER ORDINANCE NO. 1

Village Clerk-Treasurer

Pursuant to sections 61.195, 61.197 and 66.01 of the Wisconsin Statutes, the Village of Chenequa hereby elects not to be governed by those portions of sections 61.19, 61.23 and 61.25(2) of the Statutes which relate to the selection and tenure of the Village Clerk and Village Treasurer, and which are in conflict with the provisions of this charter ordinance.

The offices of Village Clerk and Village Treasurer are hereby consolidated, and there is hereby created the office of Village Clerk-Treasurer. The person filling this office shall be appointed by the Village President subject to confirmation by the Village Board of the Village of Chenequa. The Clerk-Treasurer shall hold office for an indefinite term, subject to removal as provided by law.

 


CHARTER ORDINANCE NO. 2

Village Assessor

Pursuant to sections 61.195, 61.197 and 66.01 of the Wisconsin Statutes, the Village of Chenequa hereby elects not to be governed by those portions of sections 61.19 and 61.23 of the Statutes which relate to the selection and tenure of the Village Assessor, and which are in conflict with the provisions of this charter ordinance.

Hereafter, instead of being elected, the person filling the office of Village Assessor shall be appointed by the Village President subject to confirmation by the Village Board of the Village of Chenequa. The Assessor shall hold office for an indefinite term, subject to removal as provided by law.
